What a choice! No time to sit around and get bored. On September 21st you can start your Saturday with a quick visit to a special Walton Market where there are games for the young ones and even a tea cup ride for the tinies.
Then, pop into the Library at 11.15am for some story telling – Sand Between My Toes and The Naughty Seagull – with authors Caroline Cross and Lucy Mitchell. Of course, that’s only possible if you can avoid the Sandcastle Competition on The Leas Beach. It runs from 10.00am to 12.30pm.
Top of the list for the afternoon has to be Graffiti Classics at All Saints Church. It's a classical concert, a gypsy-folk romp, an opera, a stand-up comedy set and a brilliant dance show all rolled into one! There really is something for everyone and Graffiti Classics never fails to get audiences laughing, clapping and singing along. Kids and adults alike love the uplifting and virtuosic variety of musical styles, all tied together with cheeky audience interaction. Special pricing means an adult and two children get in for £13, while two adults and four children are admitted for £19. Individual prices for an adult is £9 and a child £4.
Tickets are available from Eventbrite.
Sunday morning, head up to the Naze for classic cars with Frinton Gaskets, kites of every size, shape and colour with East Anglian Kite Flyers and flying teddies. Well, the teddies won’t actually be flying (we hope), they’ll be parachuting from the top of The Naze Tower. Sessions start at 11.00am and 1.00pm with workshops to make the parachute before the big leap. Workshops cost £5.
Wow. If that isn’t enough… The Last Fisherman’s Café has a treasure hunt going on all weekend while you can also learn to ride a bike at Walton Community Centre from 10am, make sand balls on Walton Beach from 9.30, even welcome the sunrise with Gong with the Wind - gong and saxophone inspiration on the beach, if you’re up early enough for a 7am start.
Hmmm, what shall we do?
