If you love listening to beautiful songs sung with rich harmonies, then make a date to hear the local choirs and a cappella singing we have lined up for you on the 21st and 22nd September at the Walton Arts Festival. It’s all free and offered with the kind support of Emmanuel Church who are great supporters of the Festival.
On Saturday between 5 and 6pm you can hear the Tendring Male Voice Choir sing part of their extensive repertoire at Emmanuel Church in Walton. Led by the accomplished Sarah Stephens, the choir will treat you to their renditions of popular, classic and sacred songs.
On Sunday, at 2pm at Emmanuel, we kick off with the talented City Lit a Cappella group singing a set of popular songs with a jazz twist. Led by the musically gifted Della Rhodes, the group of 7 singers are coming to Walton for the weekend to join the fun.
Shortly after that, still at Emmanuel, the inspirational Lisa Strong will be conducting her Women in Harmony group, followed by the popular Feel Good Choir. Women in Harmony is an all-woman a cappella group based in Walton singing world music. The Feel Good Choir was formed by Lisa to, in her words, “create somewhere to just get up and sing and dance, get active and most importantly, to have fun!” The result is a sound that is alive and vibrant!
So sit back, relax and enjoy the dulcet tones!
