Save the date! Between the Tides, Walton Arts Festival, is back in September 2026!
The festival weekend events will be led by the tides of the Autumn Equinox. Against a backdrop of beach activities, a celebration of coastal community and creativity across Walton-on-the-Naze. Inspired by Walton’s heritage of September folk festivals, upholding its infamous reputation for being ‘Britain’s friendliest seaside resort’, the festival aims to showcase and offer a vibrant mix of opportunities and activities for residents and visitors of all ages, to connect, create, and enjoy our wonderful coastal town in all its glory.

Music
All aboard the Disco Train!
The Jam Project light up Walton Tavern on Friday night. Soul’d Out bring energy to the Market Square on Saturday, and local bands play on Walton Pier on Sunday.
Arts
A town centre full of art!
Wander through the streets, looking at art by local artists in the independent shops, churches and venues across Walton.

Family Fun
Sandcastle Competition &
Teddy Bear Parachuting
Saturday sees the return of the sandcastle competition at The Leas Beach, followed by the Teddy Bear Parachute jump off the iconic Naze Tower.
Storytelling
We’re bringing brilliant storytelling to this year’s festival, with John Rowe, Gerry Donlon and East Anglian Folklore Centre telling watery tales of coastal folklore.
